WOODEN ROOF FORMER MINES DIRECTORATE SERIFOS
Description
Construction of a new wooden roof at the Former Mining Administration Building in Mega Livadi, Serifos, with respect for the architectural character of the area and the requirements for preserving the existing shell.
The project was carried out in an island environment, with limited access, high humidity levels and severe weather conditions, which required careful organization and implementation.

Byzantine tile, completely compatible with the local architectural idiom
Latest generation water vapor permeable membrane
Impregnating & fire retardant varnish, with long-term resistance to moisture, salinity and thermal stress

- Preservation of the historical morphology, without alterations to the original shell
- Construction on a remote island construction site, with limited resources
- Dealing with high humidity and salinity, with appropriate protection of materials
- Daily use of a crane for safe and precise lifting of materials
